This guide provides instructions for removing surface stains from furniture. To ensure the best results without damaging the material, please follow the specific cleaning methods for Cotton/Linen or Leather surfaces.
1. Cotton and Linen Fabrics
For fabric chairs and sofas.
Method A: Fabric Foam Cleaner (Recommended)
Purchase a specialized fabric foam cleaner.
This is ideal for simple stains as it requires no water and no washing, making it the most convenient option for routine maintenance.
Method B: Spot Cleaning for Fresh Stains
For small, recent stains, use an old toothbrush dipped in a mixture of dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent.
Gently scrub the affected area. Clean in small sections using a minimal amount of water.
Crucial Step: After each scrub, immediately use a dry towel to absorb excess moisture.
Repeat 3–5 times until the foam is gone, then use a hair dryer (cool setting) to dry the area completely.
Method C: Vacuuming for Dry Stains
For general dust or dry debris, use a vacuum cleaner or a mite removal tool.
If the stain persists after vacuuming, please refer to Method A or B.
Method D: Professional Steam Cleaning
For stubborn or widespread stains, we recommend hiring a professional to use a high-pressure steam gun. This is the most effective method, though it involves a higher service cost.
2. Leather Surfaces
For genuine or synthetic leather.
Daily Maintenance:
Wipe the surface regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth to remove dust. Avoid using excessive water, as it can cause leather to crack over time.
For Surface Stains:
Use a damp (not soaking) cloth with a small amount of mild pH-neutral soap or a dedicated leather cleaner.
Wipe gently in a circular motion.
Important Precautions:
Do not use harsh chemicals, bleach, or alcohol-based cleaners, as these will strip the leather’s natural oils.
Always apply a leather conditioner after cleaning to keep the material supple and prevent cracking.
Keep leather furniture away from direct sunlight or heat sources to avoid fading and drying.
